The Montauk Torah

With so much joy and excitement we invite you to join in dedicating and celebrating the first ever Torah for the Jewish community of Montauk.

There is nothing more sacred and more revered in Jewish Life than our Holy Torah. Every soul is connected to a unique letter in the Torah. We invite you to join in this beautiful mitzvah by sponsoring a letter or portion of the Torah! You can dedicate a selection for yourself, friend or loved one.

The monumental writing of a new Torah scroll requires that each of its letters be meticulously hand scribed by a sofer-scribe. Our Torah began in Montauk in August 2023. Over the course of the year a scribe in Israel has been carefully writing each word. The final letters will be inscribed with all of you in Montauk.

Owning a Piece of the Torah

Our Sages have taught that each and every Jew has a letter in the Torah that corresponds to his or her soul and spiritual identity. Just as each letter is essential for a Torah to be Kosher, so too, every Jew is an integral part of the Jewish people.

The very last mitzvah in the Torah is to write a Torah Scroll. By dedicating a word, sentence or portion for yourself, your family or friends, it is as if you have written your own Torah Scroll. It is also a source of protection and blessing for you and your family.

Be a part of this precious Mitzvah, and dedicate a part of The Montauk Torah!

All dedications will receive a memento to be prominently displayed in your home for perpetuity.
